Q’d Up is a jazz combo made up of several BYU Faculty Members. Originally named FJQ, or Faculty Jazz Quartet, Q’d Up features faculty members Ray Smith (saxophones/woodwinds), Steve Lindeman (keyboards), Jay Lawrence (drums/vibraphone), Eric Hansen (bass), Ron Saltmarsh (guitar), and Hayley Kirkland (vocals). The group plays jazz standards and fan-favorites as well as originals written by the members of the group–all extremely talented musicians and professors with years of experience and a love for jazz under their belts. Q’d Up plays jazz that’s fun and new without losing the true spirit of the music, and the band has been played on jazz radio stations across the country.
